The winner of the 2010 tournament represented the Philippines in the 31st World Amateur Go Championship.
Starting on 2011, this championship series will follow the PhGo International Tournament Qualification (point system) and is classified as a major tournament. The winners and other participants of the tournament will be receiving points based on that system.
REGISTRATION
Members of PhGo with a Filipino nationality can join the 2010 tournament. Non-members can join by registering as a PhGo member at the tournament venue itself.
As of 2011, the tournament has been opened to everyone including non-Filipino Go players, although only those with Filipino nationality can advance to the Finals.
